Last week was Sustainability Week at work and as part of celebrating our diversity, we were asked to show off our national pride by wearing our national costume from our native country.
And this was OUR fun way to share a bit of our heritage and culture… so here we go!
Me wearing a modern Filipiniana dress looking like a Matapobre (one who looks down on others, particularly the poor; a snob)
My colleague wearing a magsasaka (farmers) outfit that made us look like --- him as an alipin (slave) and me a Donya (madam/mistress), beside each other.
These photos definitely remind me of History class - the Filipino society and the Philippines during the Spanish colonial period (1521-1898).
