P.S. I'm Not Dumb

Dear Indians in Dubai,

I know it "surprises" you whenever I ask you to spell whatever the company name or word you tell me because I honestly cannot get it properly whether you say it twice, thrice or hundred times.

I'm sorry but it is just that I don't know why on earth you pronounced words way differently, such as...
Avon as a-ONE
Saravana as sar-WO-na
Mabelle as ma-be-LA
Polite Oasis as po-lie-TO-YA-sis
Oasis as o-YA-sis
EPF as YOU-pee-eff
Nuts as nEts
Hathboor as haB-Tor
I could go on and on but I'm not gonna :)

Oh and please don't sound sooo annoyed when I ask you to repeat it nor imply that I'm too stupid. I AM NOT. Apparently, it is the other way around.

Thank you.

A Dangerous Game

Four Saudi men who apparently felt bored decided to kill time by playing handball at home. But instead of using a ball in the game, they used a real baby. (Emirates 24/7)

What they didn't know is that doing such cruel, savage and merciless "game" can harm the baby. It may cause the child's brain to bleed and may deal with possible neurological damage, mental retardation, seizure disorder, or blindness as a result. According to the University of Iowa Children's Hospital:
Each year, about 1,000 children die because of shaken baby syndrome. When an infant is shaken, the baby's head snaps back and forth. The vessels in your child's head cannot tolerate the impact of the extensive shaking. The vessels break, causing blood to empty into the baby's skull.
So please don't do such thing to your baby because a moment of boredom may haunt you for a lifetime.

Blah.. Blah.. Blah..

You know you are talking to...
  • an Indian if he tells you he is calling from YE-PEE-ESP (EPF) and his office is located at the "backside" (behind) of so and so building and he received your inquiry "the day before yesterday" (last Saturday) and will deliver your package "today evening" (tonight).
  • a Filipino when he orders pour cups of coppee moga plabor (4 cups of coffee mocha flavor)  and ask you to gib him pibe (give him five).
  • an Arab if he says sorry no betrol, bebsi only (sorry no petrol, pepsi only).

Oh btw, "Summer Surprises" is here, meaning until end of July everywhere is "Sale! Sale! Sale!". Two months sale.. I can afford to shop now. Here's what I bought on 1st-week sales, the cheapest

Oh Those 7 Things

Merci  for the

So here are the 7 things about me. I hope I didn't mention them in the past and you find them interesting...
1. I'm a late bloomer, I had my 1st monthly period at the age of 15.

2. I have a "whiter" complexion compared to other Asian women. In my country, I am considered "fair-skinned" but still I (just like most of the Asians) am obsessed with whitening (HAHAHAHAHA). I'm vain like that.

3. I was born in the rural area/countryside but grew up in the suburbs (practically slums in the city).

4. My three ultimate dreams: To travel the world and the seven seas (of course with the terrorist bug), speak several languages and experience different cultures.

5. I love reading fun stuff or watching anything funny (RomCom, standup comedies, youtube clips, animation, etc as long as it is watching with the bug)

6. I enjoy gossiping (LOL), getting freebies and the bug's sense of humour.

7. Someday, I want us to be Spotted in Paris too just like the photos below. LOOOOOOOOOL

I'm too overwhelmed so I'm passing the award to everyone {for those who don't blog, please share your 7 things as comments, thanks :)}
