Hala everyone and welcome back to "Arabic Pick". In this week, the Arabic word/phrase is...

Arabicmajlis
English:  a receiving room or a place where to sit with guests, especially male guests
Did you know that...
Most of the Khalijis don't dine at tables? They eat at the majlis. It has cushions lining the room and the pillows are for their backs to rest on. In the middle of the majlis is the main seat which is given to the eldest family member. The seats on the right/left sides are for others who will be seated according to the age hierarchy

P.S. I have learned the above word/phrase informally. Arabic speakers, please feel free to correct me. Thanks!
