Arabic Pick #014

Hala Arabic learners (and enthusiasts like me)! It's Friday once again and our Arabic Pick for today is...
Arabichalal and haram
EnglishHalal is an Arabic term meaning "allowed" or "permitted".  Haram is the opposite of halal,  meaning "prohibited" or "forbidden".
In Arabic, halal and haram are universal terms that apply to all facets of life under Islam. However, in English, these words are most frequently refer to food that is permissible/impermissible according to Islamic law.
