Urban Dictionary defines "bitterbug" as:
- a downer.
- a miserable assed punk.
- a busted, MadBall assed lookin' girl or guy, jealous of everyone and everything.
Seven months ago I was bored and created this blog just for the sake of blogging. Since then, I've always received nasty messages and put-down comments from people who never forget to belittle me. (I understand that it is normal that your views about many things aren't the same with mine but there is a difference between a healthy constructive comments and derogatory ones.) Everytime that I mention "my Arab" here, I get them to pop up. It's like pronouncing the magic words "Open Sesame!" to reveal a door and open itself.
Bitterness loves company and this holds true for this bunch of people. Sometimes they message me in group always ganging up on me, most of the time anonymously (sorry guys, from now on only registered users can comment here). Honestly, I don't know if they are really a group or he/she is just one person who:
a. hates Arabs because he/she had a bad experience with Arab(s);b. is jealous of me because I am loved by an Arab;c. he/she is just unhappy with life and eating too much bittermelon/bittergourd *LOL*d. All of the above.e. None of the above.
Which is which, I really don't know. There are times I feel like I am being pushed/bullied by these bitterbugs and I would be hypocrite if I tell that whatever they've said doesn't affect me -- it does, it makes me want to stop blogging! But having more than 10 followers (LOL) and frequent commenters (thanks Silla, Mimisha, Naz, Shahirah et al) keep me in "business".
Of course, my Arab knows about all those messages so these were the words he told me..
- you don't need to explain to them. And that's the bottom line. ✿
- you don't need to defend me.
- delete him/her and his/her comments.
- you don't need to reply.
- you should have ignored him/her.
- don't entertain assholes.
