Who's Wearing What?!

GCC* Women wear

1. Abayah - a long loose black robe that covers their clothing. It is very sheer flowing fabric and is often far from plain with intricate embroidery and bead-work along the wrists and hemline.
2. Sheyla - a head scarf.

GCC* Men wear:

1. Kandoorah - a loose white robe to the ankle
2. Gahfeyah - a small white cap worn on the head to keep the Ghutra from slipping off the head.
3. Ghutra - a square scarf made of cotton, folded into a triangular shape with the fold in the front over the Gahfeyah.
4. Ogal - a doubled black cord is used to secure the Ghutra in place.

* Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Saudi, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait)
